Office 2000

I am having trouble opening any of my existing Office 2000
documents. The page just freezes and I have to close out
using CTL-ALT-DELETE. When I go under Start, Programs and
try and open up a new file whether Word or Excel, I have
no problems.

Does anyone know why I suddenly cannot open any existing
files? I have run virus scans and there doesn't seem to
be any problems there. I can access every other program on
my computer except existing files related to Office.

I would appreciate any help.

Any chance you're using Norton AntiVirus?

describes how to disable the Office plug-in (which you should do anyway,
as far as I'm concerned). It's a PPT kb article, but the instructions
for disabling the plug-in are good.
