Office 2000

I had Windows XP. Email messed up. I mistakenly installed Office 2000 and
still had all my email and contacts. In order to go back to XP, the repair
person uninstalled Office 2000 and reinstalled XP. I lost all my old email
and contacts. Are the emails anywhere on my computer and if so how do I find
them?

I think you are getting confused between Windows XP, which is an OPERATING
system and OFFICE XP which is an Office suite. if the repair person
re-installed WINDOWS XP as opposed to OFFICE XP then, yes, you have lost all
your emails and contacts unless you have a backup...

Thanks. You are right. It was Office XP that was re-installed. Does that mean
my emails may be on the system somewhere?

You can ONLY open a pst file from within outlook. launch outlook and do
File-Open-Outlook Data File....

I did that and found archive, outlook and outlook1. I opened all three and
the only one that acted different was outlook. It said it was not closed
properly and did some checking for 4 minutes and then opened up but it was
not my old mail, just the new mail i have aquired in the last few days.
Thanks for the suggestions

I'm amazed. I went to view, folder list and Personal Folders. In the personal
folder I found all my old emails. So I have my old mail in the Personal
Folder tree and right under it in the Outlook Today tree I have my new email.
How can I combine the two?

Drag and drop them into the destination folder.
