After receiving windows update (2000) unable to run
office - Getting message "This patch package could not be
opened. Verify that the path package exists and that you
can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify
this is a valid window installer package." Tried un-
installing but I get the same message. Tried re-installing
from disk - get the same message - any ideas - Have tried
Window installer cleanUp Utility but it does not show
office program (mci.dll ver 2.0)

Am having exactly the same problem...update from 98SE to
Windows 2000 Pro and can't run Office XP 2002. Get the
same message....can open Word and Excel logged in as
administrator but not Outlook. Can't open any if logged
in as myself. If you solve let me know...Thanks!! CL

I am having a similar problem. I just upgraded from
Win98SE to XP. I cannot uninstall nor reinstall Office
2000. There is an article about this in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base, but the utility program does not work
with XP. The article does not say what to do if you have
XP.

I would like to uninstall Office 2000 completely, then
reinstall it.

Microsoft, PLEASE let us know what to do. We're stuck!

Thank you,
Scott
