Office 2000

I trashed the old computer and gave it to a computer recycling unit who
promised me all data would be scrubbed off.

Now have installed Office 2000 on a new machine and keep getting the Install
Wizard. I went through it and have a Installation ID that keeps coming up
but don't have a Confirmation number. I have been on the phone an hour with
MS and finally they said they can't help me becuz I've had 2 support
instances in the last 7 years. I own lots of MS products and subscribe to
LiveOneCare and never use pirated software and now I'm being treated pretty
shabbily. Can anyone help? Basically, MS just ran me up against a brick
wall all the way from India...

Hi.
Thanks, but I don't think that is it. The message I get talks about the
time on the machine being not in sync with the time on the server. It gives
3 suggestions, but none of them work.

Specifically, this is the message that appears:
======================
Your computer's date and time appear to be out of sync with an update
certificate. To fix this:
1. In Control Panel, open Date and Time Properties.
2. Ensure that the date and time are correct.

Read more about steps you can take to resolve this problem (error number
0x80072F8F) yourself.
========================
I did all that -- including the 3 steps that the last line directs you to.

Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found the problem. My machine had been recently repaired and in the
process the date was set to 2003. That must have triggered it. When I
corrected the date, the message stopped appearing. Apparently MS doesn't
want to worry about this for a program ver. that is as old as 2000.
