I cannot update office 2000. I use XP and have tried the longer install
witohut the cd and with. Any suggestions?

Are you getting an error message? How is the update not working, and what
update are you trying to install? Are you using the Office Update site or
the Microsoft Update site? Have you tried the steps in this article:
