Office 2001 can not resave doc with same name on OSX server

David

Hi,

I have users logging in to OSX and their home folders are on the
server. Word 2001 running in classic is not saving a document after
you save it and edit the document. It makes you save the document
with a different name.
There are 2 different error messages.

"Word cannot save or create this file. The disk may be full or
write-protected.
Try one or more of the following:
*free more memory.
*Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full,
write-protected, or damaged. (filename.doc)"

"Word cannot complete the operation because too many files are open."

Apple was able to recreate this problem but no answer.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi David:

This is a hardy perennial problem. Make sure that Office 2001 has the
latest updates applied, and that OS X is up at its latest level. This fixes
most but not all such problems.

For more information, search the Macintosh section of
http://www.mvps.org/word for "Unable to save".

Cheers
