Office 2002 - Installing into a new computer

I have recently purchased a new laptop and would like to install windows
office 2002 into it. The software came batched (but not loaded), with my old
desktop. I installed it into said desktop and registered it with no problems.
The problem is that I no longer have the product registration code, which I
need to re-install it into my new laptop. Is it possible to get a new key ?

What do you mean by "batched but not loaded"?

If it came pre-installed then it's a good bet it's OEM and in that case you
can't transfer it at all to a new machine.

Look at the Office CD that you haven or read the EULA on the old computer
for Office (Help, About). If it says for installation on a new computer,
etc. it is OEM and can not "legally" be installed on a different computer
according to it's EULA.

If it is a retail edition, use Key finder from www.MagicalJellybean.com and
look at the Office tab when that program is run on the old computer and it
will tell you the product key. Or you can go to
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823570/en-us for information to obtain a new
product key.
