Hi all. Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. tend to ask me to save the document
when I'm exiting the program even if I have never edited anything. Is there
anywhere to prevent this?

TIA.

Tools> Options > Save
Uncheck the [ ] Embed Smart tags option.

Doesn't seem to work Mike; the box seems to remain checked.

Remains checked after doing what? My mind-reading skills are not what they
were a thousand years ago.

After I uncheck it, i.e. I open the box again and it's here checked (and the
save message still comes on when I exit).
