Office 2003/2000 compatibility.

I want to replace the trial Office 2003 Student Edition that I received with my new laptop with Office 2000 that I had with my old machine. Are these versions of Office compatible? Or do I need to modify the files I have created with 2003?
If so, do I use 'Save as...' and change the file type for each file individually or is there a way to convert all simultaneously? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a broke student and need to save my dough for tuition and books.

If you used OL2003, you need to, within IL2003, create a new pst, as an
earlier version, copy/export data to the earlier version. In order that it
be read in OL2K
I'm sure someone will respond with details of other issues/compatibility.
Allthough I recollect MS had a habit of altering file systems in Access,
between versions.

What is a pst? I understand how to import/export but do not recognize abbreviation 'pst'. Should I use comma or tab separated values?
Thank you for the quick response.

PST is the file-type that Outlook uses. 2003 uses a slightly different PST
file than the previous Outlooks so you have to save the Outlook information
as a previous version's PST.

As for Access, yes it has changed again for 2003 (I believe) so if you use
that, you will need to save back to previous versions again.

How do you do all this? Dunno, I'm sure some bright spark will post here
with instructions.

In OL2003 to Create a new pst (Personal Folder/Data Store) I believe its
under File menu, the process gives you the option to create earlier version.
With both personal folders open you can use drag and drop.
I'm a bit wary of using import or export on pst's it can go wrong, but
perhaps they've improved it in OL2003
Once you've uninstalled 2003 and are installing OL2K, you should be able to
point the installation to this pst during the install, if it doesnt find it.
