Office 2003 Add-in: Remove Hidden Data tool

Has anyone tried using this tool to remove track changes and comments from
files before publishing or sending electronically? I read a report about its
known issues and am not sure if the benefits outweigh the risks...for
example, it says that templates and other settings might get messed up when
using this tool.

I'm also eally irritated with the default show markups (and is there anyway
to not have View Markups checked in the View menu when you create a new
doc?). I changed everything in the Reviewing toolbar, unchecked the Make
hidden markup visible box in the Options > Settings tab, and I generally
can't see any, but the default is still set to show markups. And how can I be
sure to send something without markups? I know about accepting changes but
the default still pops up that it's in Final showing markup view...

Thanks

Try asking about this in the office.setup newsgroup. I think some of the
regulars there may be familiar with this tool.

The only options to control this are in Word: Tools/Options/Security. There are
two checkboxes relevant to your... Complaint, and both work for me (I keep them
active): "Warn before printing, sending or saving a file that contains tracked
changes or comments" and "Make hidden markup visible when opening or saving."
