Office 2003 and 2007 on same computer?

I've heard that you can run both Office 2003 and 2007 on the same computer,
with the exception of Outlook having to be one or the other for email. How do
I do this? When I installed 2007, it wrote over my 2003 without even giving
me the option. If I reinstall my 2003, will it cancel out the 2007?
I need to run 2007 for certain things, but need to run 2003 for most work
items as we have not upgraded yet and certain projects created in 2007 are
not displaying or running the same in 2003.
I am running Windows Vista.

"Information about using 2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that
is running another version of Office
....
You can install and use more than one version of Microsoft Office on a
single computer. For example, you can install and use both Microsoft 2007
Office suites and programs and Microsoft Office 2003 on the same computer.
However, we do not recommend this."

In your case, if you want to install Office 2003, you --must-- uninstall
Office 2007 first. Then install Office 2003. Finally install Office 2007.
I don't know why you weren't presented with the option to keep your Office
2003 files. It should be under Custom Install. If you do manage to install
Office 2003 with Office 2007 already installed, really strange things will
happen...

Thank you for all the help. I will read the links that were sent, and then
figure out what would work best. I do like the idea of doing the work in 2007
and then simply saving in 2003 format. If that does the trick, that seems to
be the best option until the rest of the world catches up.

Thanks again.
