Office 2003 and compatibility with Office XP/2002 add-ons ?

Pivert

Hi,

had Office 2002-XP installed on my PC, and it crashed last
week. Now trying to rebuild, my CD of Office XP is
scratched, and I could not read one important file from CD.

Since company now using Office 2003 licensed for the new
PCs, I requested a copy for my PC, and got it installed
without problem ( Win XP Pro as OS).
Hoewever, I have been unable to load all the add-ons I
have patiently collected and bought for Word &
Poewerpoint, as well as Access 97 / 2k2 : Office 2003 apps
see them, try to load, but allways conclude to an error :
so none of my nice add-ons can be used !
So question is :
- is there a technique to get them to work for Office 2003
apps ? Or has MS again changed so much that all
investments done earlier have to be discarded for new add-
ons / apps ?
- or do I have to either abandon them, or buy new ones (
totally excluded : cannot buy new pieces of nice software
all 2-3 year !!), or do I have to find a copy of Offce
2002-XP again somewhere ?

Thanks for the feedback !

If your Office XP is retail:

Microsoft Retail Software

Lost, Broken or Stolen

Your add-in question depends upon the specific add-in.

Yep. That I will do concerning "broken" Office XP CD. But
since company is moving towards Off-2003, what happens
with the addons developped for office97 & 2002/xp that we
own ? these I did not get working on my office 2003 test
drive.

Have you contacted the programmers of those add-ons to see if they plan
Office 2003 versions?

As I posted you need to be more specific or as Milly posted you need to
contact the publisher of the add-in.

The answer to your question is add-in specific. For example, Avery has
version of the Avery Wizard for Word for each version of Word. Adobe
Acrobat PDF add-in will both Office XP and Office 2003 provided you are
using at least version 5.05 of Acrobat.
