Office 2003 and Photo Editor

Sure, no problem, but why not look at the Microsoft Office Picture Manager
that comes with Office 2003, its pretty much the same functionality with a
different wrapper.....

One bit of functionality missing from Picture manager is the ability to
specify the size of the picture when printing. I cannot see how to do that,
and mostly the pre-formated picture sizes that exist in the print wizard in
Picture manager are not what I want. For me, that piece of functionality
makes Photo Editor superior to Picture Manager.

It's also unable to open TIFs generated by Office's own Document Imaging
program (also opaque to the Windows Picture Viewer). It's not just the left
hand and right hand of MS not being aware of each other, but adjacent
fingers....

No scanning facility either...MS products are just crap.

they just switch everything around and slap it in a box and tell the world
it helps productivity...what a joke.

No it isn't.

1) I can't correct the image's gamma anymore. In PE you could specify a gamma-correction of 1.8. No idea how to do that in MOPM.
2) Also, I can't specify the JPEG compression in %-tages. Only four choices in MOP
3) I can't negate the picture-colours anymore
4) None of the effects supplied by PE are supported (Sharpen, Soften, Smudge, Despeckle, Posterize, Chalk & Charcoal, Emboss, Texturize, etc.

Picture Manager is in no way a substitute for Photo Edito

JASC Paint Shop Pro 8.0 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0
If you want really good photo editing software for about 50.00 each
They both will do what you want and more.
If you can find a copy of Microsoft Photo Draw {which should have never been discontinued}, that will do the job as well.
We use all 3 for editing our business web site.
Both Microsoft products you are posting about are basically add-ins.
