I want to purchase the 2003 edition of office for my kids,
but it requires 2000 or xp OS. Does anyone know why you
can't load it on 98 OS?

Windows 98 does not fully support Unicode, which Office2003 requires. There
are workarounds, but they're potentially insecure and unstable. For
security and stability, we require Windows 2000 to run Office2003.

Because Microsoft likes to make money so they made it so
it requires 2000 or XP to get people to spend more on
Microsoft software and increase profits for Bill Gates and
other shareholders.

Amusing, but no. Remember, we'd make more money if we sold more copies of
Office, which generally costs more than a Windows upgrade.
