Office 2003 applications hand when opening or saving a file

Hi,

Getting highly frustrated as my Office 2003 professional is hanging
everytime I try to change file locations, either when opening, saving or
inserting a picture. Eventually it comes back to life and I can chose a
different drive or folder but then it will hang again if I wanto go go to s
sub-folder. I have service pack 3 installed. any ideas very gratefully
received!

You don't happen to have unavailable drives mapped do you? In My
Computer, if there are unavailable drives, right click on them and
select disconnect to remove them from the search path.
