Office 2003 applications ignore "Reuse Windows" setting in IE?

Hello,

I am having a problem with hyperlinks in Office 2003 applications (Outlook,
Word). When I click on the hyperlink to open the page, rather than reusing
an existing IE window (IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2...) it spawns a new IE window.
I definitely have the "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" box checked in
IE. It seems that there must be a setting in Office 2003 for this feature,
I just can't seem to find it. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
