Office 2003 apps will not open when logged in as guest in WinXP

Hello everyone. I hope someone can help.

I am helping a friend with WinXP and Office 2003 Professional.

When logged in as an Administrator or a Limited User account, Office 2003
works fine. However when you log in as the Guest account and attempt to open
Word for example, Office 2003 setup starts and gives the following error:

Error 25090. Office Setup encountered a problem with the Office Source
Engine, system error: -2147024891. Please open C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM and look for "Office Support Engine" for more
information on how to resolve this problem.

I opened the help file however the suggestions gave no helpful information.
I found Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 827467 and tried the suggestion
however it did not work as the guest account has insufficient permissions to
run setup.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Chris

Rerun setup from the Admin account and set Office to run for all users.

In windows XP (and 2000), the guest account is only there to allow the most
limited access to a computer system, thus many programs will simply not run.
If you want to give your friend temporary access, you could always create a
new account set to Limited User then remove it/change the password/disable
it when you no longer want them accessing your PC.

Darren
