Office 2003 Basic Freezes ONAPPLICATIONSTART and won't close

Office 2003 is playing games with me. Word opens and it shows the Type
cursor then it freezes. I try to close it and I get the "program has
experienced an error and has to close" dialog that WE ALL FUCKEN HATE. But
then i DONT SEND or SEND an error report and it doesn't close, I've tried the
system processes tree closing and suspending the process NOTHING. Excel does
the same thing. What's going on? Anyone know? I can't do ANYTHING it just
FREEZES! thanks for reading take care.
