Office 2003 beta

Does anyone know how to make the mail notification for
outlook work? Its all setup to notify me when i recieve
mail but it does not work. Is this a know issue or I am
just having my own issues.

It works just fine for me, so I assume you are having your own issues.

Ok great Thanks... Does anyone have any Information about
this? I have checked all my settings and its all setup to

Ok, Bill, here is what I did. Check your settings against mine:
1) Click Tools|Options|Preferences Tab|Email Options button,
2) Click "Advanced Email Options" button
3) Under "When new item arrives in my inbox (default inbox only)"
<Note that this ONLY works for your default inbox. It will NOT work for
secondary inboxes>
a) check "Show an envelop icon in the notification area"
b) check "Display a New Mail Alert"
4) Click "Desktop Alert Settings" button
a) Set Duration to a value > "short" (I have mine set to 7 seconds)
b) Set Transparency to a value < "clear" (I have mine set to 20%)
c) Click "Preview" to test settings
"Ok" out

I have the same issue too....

It's a bit of an app killer really.

I'd be glad to hear of a resolution

All settings checked and the preview notification works.

Could it be something to do with the version of 2003 that
i have? mine is version 11.4920.4920

I advise you to download and apply the Office 2003 Beta Technical
Refresh. If Im not mistaken, the notifications did not work when I
first installed Office 2003 Beta.

I'm not saying that will solve your problem, but its a good idea to
install the Technical Refresh, anyway.
Get it here: http://tinyurl.com/jd2o

Download at least the Office 2003 Technical Refresh. That will include
any bug fixes for Outlook.

Hey man Thank you. That worked. It took almost 2 hours
to download and then install but it worked.

Any time. I sometimes forget that some people are still on dial-up
accounts. When I downloaded the refreshes, I got them all in 20 minutes
or so.
