Office 2003 beta

V

Vernon Marquis

I installed office 2003 beta on my pc now the product is
has expired and I have lost all functionality of my
files, they are locked down. How do I remove office 2003
and not destroy my valuable data.

Hi Vernon,

Always backup your files before doing any install/uninstall.
A 'regular' uninstall from Add/Remove Programs in the
Windows Control Panel shouldn't remove your data files
nor would installing an Office 2003 Trial version of
full retail product to supercede the beta copy.

If you've been using the new version of the Outlook
storage .PST file, you may want to convert it back to
an earlier version format before uninstalling.

The expired apps still work as file viewers if you
have a need for that.

I can't find the 'import-export' option in my Outlook
2003 beta version. I'd like to save my .pst, but can't
figure out how...can you help?

Thanks!!

In the main Outlook window, go to File->Import and Export. If this is the
beta and it has expired, turn back your system clock to a date before
November 30 and then use the import/export.

Milly,

I've been trying to find that. I've checked every folder
in my Outlook, and none of them offer me
the 'Import/Export' function. This is the original beta,
I never did the beta 2 update because I'm still on dial-
up. My system clock shows November 7th currently.

Thanks for your help!! :)

The original beta expired sometime back in the summer or late spring. Of
course you will not have the menu items. The product is non-functional.

If you can search your hard drive for a file with the extension of .pst (in
Windows 2000 and XP, enable searching hidden and system folders). If you
did not elect to use the new format, this .pst file should work.

You really should have posted that this was the original beta as that
expired a LONG time ago.

I see...it hasn't changed in functionality for me, until
the beta expiration of November 30. If updating the beta
will enable the export functionality, I'll do that
overnight or something. Do you know where I can find that
update?

Thanks again!!
