Office 2003 cab error

F

FunInPA

I am trying to install Office 2003 from an original disk. I am getting an
error that states:

Installation Error: File Not Found
A required installation file A2561405.cab could not be found

I have verified the disk is good, the file is listed on the disk but I
cannot get it to install on the computer. I've tried browsing to the file but
it still won't install.

What can I do to get around this error?

Thanks

Copy the contents of the CD into a folder in the hard disk and run the setup
from that folder. See if that works.

Thanks JoAnn however when I tried to copy the files onto the hard drive I get
the following error (which just happens to be the same .cab file the setup
gets stuck on):

Cannot copy: A2561405
Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)

What now?

I know that when you get that error, it's not good. I have a feeling the
disk itself may be the issue. Is it a retail version?

It's an OEM version and I've used it to install on many other computers
without an error at all. It's just this one computer I can't get it to
install on.

And you want to keep on installing on more??? You are kidding of course

Aside from that call the OEM that supplied the disk for help with your issue
