Office 2003 - CAB file not found

Ric Bernat

I downloaded Office 2003 Pro and burned a CD from the iso
file. When I run setup, I select to upgrade my Office XP
isntallation.

Every time setup gives this error:
A required installation file A3561405.CAB could not be
found. If I look on the CD (and show hidden files)
A3561405.CAB is there. I can copy it from the CD to the
hard drive no problem.

I tried re-burning the CD, but same thing on the second CD.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ric

Why can't you run the download from the hard drive? ISO Buster will convert
the ISO files into the required exe or cab's.

Copy all of the Office installation files to a directory on your hard drive
and try again.

Thanks for the input. I tried extracting to my hard disk
with ISOBuster. Setup still failed on the very same cab
file.

So, I have to think my ISO file is corrupt. I will re-
download from MSDN and try again. I'll post the result.

I am having the same problem except I am installing from
the 2003 beta kit. I get a different cab file number and
it won't install..

Hi Dave -

What operating system are you trying the installation on?
