Office 2003 - changed front end exchange server

We installed Office 2003 by pushing a cached copy to all workstations in our
company. Since the original push and installation of over 3500 machines the
front end exchange server was changed. We have a problem when a new users
log into the machine the because the user settings point to the old exchange
server. We have created a customized maintenance wizard file to attempt to
change the server name. We are frustrated because the user looses all their
outlook preferences. We have copied a revised MST file to the cached
directory but when a user logs into the machine they do not always get the
setup with the new exchange server. Any suggestions
