Office 2003 compressed CD image and SP1

M

Michael Meacham

How do I apply SP1 to a compressed image of Office 2003 Professional on a
network drive? (I want to use the new LIS feature so I'm not using an
administrative install.)

Thanks!

I've looked at both of those, and I'm not seeing what I'm looking for there.
:(

Is it *possible* to create a SP1-applied compressed image so that I can use
LIS on the PCs?

Michael, it isn't possible update a compressed CD image on a network. In
order for this feature to work properly, it must remain in its original
state. You will need to deploy client patches. The benefit is that you
will use less bandwidth (it takes less time to copy a patch than to perform
a re-install of Office), and if the \MSOCache folder is intact the client
machines will never need to check the installation source.

You should find the information you need at
