Office 2003 does not Autorun Setup

J

Jack Gillis

I tried to install Office 2003 Pro under XP SP2 and when I inserted the
CD it did not bring up a Setup program. The CD opened to show all the
files and I had to run Setup.exe manually.

Here is the Autorun.Inf file

[autorun]
OPEN=SETUP.EXE /AUTORUN
ICON=SETUP.EXE,1

shell\configure=&Configure...
shell\configure\command=SETUP.EXE

shell\install=&Install...
shell\install\command=SETUP.EXE

I feel the autorun.inf file is being open because the Icon for Office 11
appears in My Computer but I could be mistaken about that.

CD's for other programs, including XP, go to any setup programs on the
CD so I think the problem is limited to the Office CD.

Can someone help me get this working right?

Thank you very much.

Hi Jack,

If MS Office 2003 is already installed then
the installer Autorun file on the CD does not
run. You can change feature sets for Office 2003
once installed from Add/Remove Programs in the
Windows Control Panel.
