I have used TweakUI to set my menu speed to 0 (I am impatient). All apps
follow this except Office 2003 apps. The main menus switch quickly, but
submenu items have an annoying half-second delay before opening, which is
exactly what I wanted to get rid of by using TweakUI. Again, Office apps are
the only apps that don't respect this setting. Also, I have XP themes
service turned off and use the Windows classic view. Again, Outlook has
refused to comply. Menus in Office are white with the gray border and 3d
floating look, while every other app has the flatter gray menus. It would be
nice if Microsoft would follow it's own standards when conforming to the
Windows look and feel guidelines, and not try to force the XP look into
Office regardless of a user's settings.
