Office 2003 file open dialog hangs system when trying to select a

My office 2003 is current with all microsoft updates.
I run Windows XP SP2 with all current updates.
I have tried the "fix office installation" using the installation disks.
Still, when I try to use the file open (or save as) dialogs in the Offices
2003 products the product hangs (Excel, Access, Word).
Any soloutions?

Your Hewlett Packard scanner or printer may be your problem.
Check out this link. I used this and it took care of the problem
immediately.
