Office 2003 from Office 2000

I upgraded from Office 2000 pro to Office 2003, now when
I check for updates to Office 2003 it tells me I should
install Office 2000 SP1. Should I install it, is it safe
to do this or will this hose up my Office 2003?

Sounds like something got messed up in the Office install.

I would:

1. Uninstall Office 2003.
2. If Office 2000 remains installed, run a repair on Office 2000.
3. Re-install Office 2003, but tell the install to REPLACE Office 2000.

Hi A.,

Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel to see
if there are any remaining Office 2000 family stand alone products such as
Word 2000, Publisher 2000 or Frontpage 2000. If so, then you
will continue to be advised to install 2000 and 2003 series updates
to support what you have installed. You can install updates for
both series.
