I've recently bought through ebay what was advertised as a brand new,
unopened, genuine MS copy of Office 2003 (was a UK seller with lots of
positive feedback so all looked kosher).
It turned out that the seller had had his ebay account hacked by someone
from China, whi sent me what turned out to be a counterfeit copy of
Office 2003 (albeit a good one - had to use www.howtotell.com to be sure).
I'm negotiating with ebay/paypal for the return of my (substantial)
purchase price, however I'm trying to establish whether I can send the
disk to MS under their 'Genuine Advantage' offer to replace it with a
genuine item. The problem is that there is conflicting info on MS
website as to whether Office 2003 qualifies or not. Anyone know for
sure; and if not, whether I have any other options?
All very irritating as I already have a legit copy of Office 2007 but I
loathe and detest its new interface so much I want to revert to the
familiar version I've used for 10 years (if you count previous similar
incarnations)...
