I setup a GPO to deploy Office 2003. I used an MST to uninstall all
previous versions of Office and install All components of Office 2003.
It works great as long the PC was setup correctly to begin with. For
example, it works fine if it did not have Office before or it had all
of Office XP with all components installed. It will remove the
previous version.
But if a PC had Office XP installed but not the Outlook option, my GPO
installs all of Office 2003 except for Outlook. How does that override
my MST file?
In troubleshooting this, I have manually uninstalled Office 2003 from
two test computers via Add\Remove Programs. But as soon as I reboot,
the Office shortcuts reappear in the Start\Programs menue. When I go
to Add\Remove Programs, Office 2003 is not listed. However, if I click
on the Word Shortcut, Word reinstalls and opens up. The same for all
other Office applications. Then it is listed back in Add\Remove
Programs. How can I truly uninstall Office 2003? I've checked
registry settings, used Windows Installer Cleanup Utility but nothing
does it. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Greg
