Office 2003 icon/link and uninstall problem

Most of my Office 2003 icons, as well as some from other programs, are
blank white and go nowhere. This includes many from Programs and Features
uninstall page.
I have tried using 'Detect and Repair' from Word, and get this error "This
patch could not be opened. Verify..." I also get this error when I try to
reinstall Office 2003 from the disk (real disk and valid product code), and
even when I try to UNinstall it!
I followed instructions fron internet, and downloaded Windows Install
Clean Up (msiucc2.exe). I run this program, but NO programs are listed as
available to remove!
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I have the exact same issue as you but on dekstop XP computers.

Sorry, I was never able to find a fix. I finally just assumed it was too
much junk messed with in the registry, and ended up reloading the entire OS.
Hope you have better luck!
