Dr All Bran
I have recently had this mesaage whenever attempting to open any of the
Office 2003 apps. - "the operating system is not presently configured to run
this application".
I have carried out a number of Windows updates recently after being away
from the PC for some time. These include XP SP3. I have virus-scanned and
defragged.
When I searched the web for solutions, answers were hard to find. One did
mention that Office user data is stored in a particular file and that if this
file had become corrupted or incorrect, Office would not launch. The
suggestion was to delete this file, repair and launch Office whereupon a new,
correct user data file would be created.
Is this the correct solution, and if not, is there any other way to correct
this situation. I would of course prefer not to lose my settings, e-mails
and address book etc.
Can anyone offer any help??
