Office 2003 Install Issue

When installing Office 2003 Pro, with SP2 and patches (via ohotfix.ini), some
PC's are prompted for login credentials to our intranet web server. It seems
to coincide with an Event log error 0x800401F0 (failed to connect to server).
Even if I place the install files locally, this occurs (again, only on some
PC's...but it's consistent on those PC's).

I thought it had smething to do with the existing Frontpage install, as on
one of the problem PC's, I was getting an event log error (ID 11708) at the
same time as the one mentioned above that said - MS Ofice Frontpage 2003 -
Failed Installation. However, we've found the issue on PC's without
Frontpage, or other 'extra' Office software.

Any ideas? The bottom line...I really need to figure out how to suppress the
prompting of login credentials to our Intranet web servers during our Office
install.
Thanks!!

What is your server (2000,2003) and what software is working of it (like
Share Point). Could be Office is trying to tie to that product. If so, then a
little more info would be usefull.

We're installing Office via our SMS2003 server (on Win2003 server). However,
even if I copy all the Office files to the C: drive, and run locally, I get
prompted. I've figured out that it's trying to make a handshake with an IIS
server(Win2003, with IIS 5), and that it's happening during the patching
part. I don't know why it would be contacting out web server. It's almost
like something is cached on the C: drive that is referencing this web server,
but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Anything?? Thanks.
