Office 2003 install over Office XP

1) If you get Office 2003 Professional, can you install over Office XP? Is
it preferrable and what are the reasons, to uninstall Office XP first and
what is the best way to handle Outlook as far as issues with saving or
transferring mail, .dbx files, ect.

2) If one just had Office XP Pro and bought stand alone Outlook 2003 what
would be the preferred way to handle the installation?

Thanks,

Chad Harris

in both cases, uninstallation is not required, because Office 2003 setup
will handle it appropriately, asking which versions would you like to keep
and remove.

Gyorgy--

Thanks much. Are there any special precautions to take with Outlook mail,
calendar settings and tweaks, or any other Outlook components I didn't name,
in order to preserve them for the new Outlook 2003? That is how will mail
email and calendar information among other things transfer seamlessly?

Thanks,

Chad Harris
