Office 2003 installation problem...

Ash Farbrother

Ok, so here's the beef...
Creating an image for distribution across the network via ghost. Old
hand at this, done it before. Installed Office 2003 on the base image,
ran once as local admin. Lovely. Distribute image, join to domain, user
logs on, tries to open word, powerpoint, or any other office program,
and the darned thing tries to run setup. Now the problem is... we have
700 odd computers, and staff are constantly jumping from one to the
other, as are students. And also our 'network management software'
blocks as default windows with the word setup/install/etc in them.
So... any ideas how i stop it running this mini setup for each user
every time they log on?

Configure roaming profiles for your users. They will travel with their
configuration then so the installer doesn't have to run and create the
registry entries for them.
