Office 2003 Installer keeps loading

I'm running Office 2003 with Vista Home Premium. Suddenly, whenever I open
any Office application, I get a box that says "Preparing to Install" as you
normally get with any new software installation. If I let the thing run
it's course, it eventually closes without installing anything as far as I
can see, at which point the app opens normally. If I cancel it, it opens
again, at which point if I cancel it again it stays closed and the app opens
normally. This happens every time I open any Office app.

Any suggestions, anyone. It doesn't seem to impact on how things run, but
it's time consuming and annoying.

Did you try logging into Vista on an account without any restrictive
privileges, then running an office repair?

That seems to have done it, followed by a reinstall, thanx.

I absolutely have no words to express the hatred I feel toward MS for Vista
and all the associated UAC and Privileges hassles. It's my own system in my
home used by nobody but me, and I resent the hell out of being told I don't
have permission to do something as simple as install or uninstall a program,
or sometimes even to delete a file.

I've used every version of Windows ever released, and DOS before that from
it's first release, and Vista has given me more headaches than all the past
OS's combined.

I am trying to uninstall Office 2003 from a Windows XP Professional w/SP3
and failing.

When ever I open a document with Microsoft Word 2003 it crashes. I have no
idea where the original CD may be (it was installed in 2003, for heaven's
sake).

I have downloaded the resource kit and run the removal wizard, but it's
still there!

HELP!

Whenever I send an email with Outlook Express 6.0 it starts running the
installer, which I have to cancel.
If I try to uninstall fromt the Control Panel I am told "The patch package
could not be opened. verify that the patch package exists and that you can
access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid
Windows Installer patch package." I have NO IDEA what this is rambling on
about. I just want to uninstall Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003
and get back to being able to send emai.

Please help me to uninstall office 2003.

My system is experiencing the same glitch; "preparing to install' whenever I
open either Outlook 2003 or Word. If I ignore that window, I can sort of use
Outlook. But it is no longer possible to use Word 2003 as an email editor.

Have tried to use the original Office 2003 disk to do a repair, but the
setup won't even run now.

I use Office constantly... hard to deal with this constant issue. Any
solution would be gratefully received!
