I'm generating a report for a client that will be burned onto a CD.
Let's say this report is called C:\reports\200312\clientA_report.doc
Within the report I'd like to create hyperlinks to other documents.
When I create the links in Office 2003, they reference the absolute
pathname; C:\reports\200312\link1.doc.
However, when I burn the report to CD the links still reference the
full pathname which is no longer available. If I move the CD to
another machine there is is no link1.doc on the C: drive.
How do I make the links referential to documents that are on the CD? I
have tried File->Properties->Hyperlink Base, eyt when I burn the CD
the document tells me it still cannot find the links. I have tried
linking them to the D: drive, but not everyone's D: drive is their
CD-ROM.
Any suggestions as to how I can always have a document reference
external docs using hypertext links?
Thanks.
