Office 2003 KB951982GLB install question

Was sent this file to try and repair the MIME known bug with Vista.
File came password protected with some warning about it being pulled or
updated, supposedly to be included in Office 2003 SP4 ??

Anyhow after entering the password, the extractor, an .exe, asks me where to
place files from patch, therefore I am asking where do patch files reside on
an Office 2003 install on a Vista computer so that I can apply this patch and
see if it corrects my problem...

you'll have to call PSS and ask them about this patch as its not released to
the general public yet.

Who/What is this PSS?
Cary Liu (Wicresoft) is who sent me the file, but she hasn't responded with
a correct reply yet, asked me if it was an MSP file but file was an EXE and
asked me location to extract files into.

Cannot you tell me where the update/patches/service packs reside in the file
structure? That is all I need to know to insert the files in correct
location, or so it seems from the installer that was sent to me.

Oh well guess wait another day or week for a reply, this MIME problem is
annoying, having to have clients send emails to a yahoo account is far from
professional.

It was an MSP file and in Vista if you right click you can choose Apply, this
starts the installer, I liked that feature... Waiting for a document to
arrive to verify patch corrects problem with MIME.

PSS is "product support services", which is apparently how/why Wicresoft had
the file to send you - they're a Microsoft venture and provide support for
office and windows.

I haven't seen the file and I don't know what the instructions are for it,
so I really can't say how you are supposed to use it.

For snl I decided to extract into a folder i created on desktop, then when I
right clicked file there was an option to apply, this patch did fix the MIME
issue...

try this method:
Call 1-800-936-4900 (press 3 for hotfixes) and tell them you're calling to
obtain the hotfix described in KB 951982. That is the normal method but
since the KB is not public yet, they may make you open an incident report
first.
