Office 2003 keeps installing

Have a new Vista PC which came with a trial version of Office 2007. I
installed Office 2003 but didn't uninstall the 2007 until it started opening
when I didn't want it to on certain documents. So finally uninstalled it.
Now when I open a Word, Excel, or Powerpoint document from a folder, I get
the "preparing to install" window and "please wait while configuring . . . ".
This also happens when I open the programs directly.
I've tried uninstalling 2003 and reinstalling it. No help. I've gone into
regedit to give full permissions. No help. I downloaded SP3. No help.
I've read everything I can to self-fix. No help. I contacted Microsoft. No
help unless I pay.
Can someone help for real?

If you have Windows XP, then log in to Windows as Administrator, start
an Office program, accept the EULA, close the Office program, log out of
Windows as Administrator, and log back in to Windows using your normal
user profile.

If you have Windows Vista, then right-click on an Office program
shortcut, choose to run the Office program as Administrator, accept the
EULA, close the Office program, and then start the Office program normally.

If the previous suggestion doesn't help, then see
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=884202 "You must accept the Office
End User License Agreement every time that you start an Office program".

I have Vista but do not have the option when right-clicked on program to "run
as administrator". Not sure why because I did before but obviously there's
more to this problem.
In an attempt to try to fix earlier before your post, I also downloaded a
trial versioin of Office 2007 since the "continuous install" problem didn't
happen when the OEM 2007 was on my PC. It didn't make any difference and now
regardless of which Office version I open, I get the "trying to install"
window.
After doing more research, it sounds like it's not an Office program problem
at all but that it's a Windows Installer issue. So I started looking up
problems related to that but still haven't found a fix.
So I guess I have several issues.
1. Why can't I right-click any Office program and see the "run as
administrator" option anymore?
2. What's the magic fix to this whole thing?
3. How does a problem like this happen in the first place so if it's
something I did, I can avoid doing it again?

Please help again. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

I just checked other non-Office applications and all of them have the option
when I right-click to "Run as Administrator". Why is that not an option on
any of the Office 2003 or 2007 programs since my original problem started?
