Office 2003 License

T

TDanley

I am the IT manager for a small company - we have under 50 PCs. We
are currently running on Office 2003 - for the most part. Some still
have office xp - I just started 8 months ago so i've upgraded as i
replaced PCs. Most of our office software comes with our PCs - I've
bought 6 in the last 8 in the last 8 months - all with office
2003. In the past i've simply gone to hte MS website and bought a
license for whatever version of Office 2003 I was installing - I have
the media for everything.

I'm looking at purchasing 5 more and I wanted them all to have Office
2003 - but it seems I cannot purchase it. Thats what a software
vendor told me I have to purchse 2007 licenses and use them when
Install 2003? That doesn't seem right.

Most of our customers and clients don't have 2007 and I don't want us
to have to save as an older version all the time.

Is it impossble to buy 2003 - am I going to be forced to upgrade the
entire company? Surely not.

Thanks

There are still 12 Office 2003 Professionals (new and used) at Amazon.

Tom
| You may still find some place that has some leftover copies of Office 2003
| but since 2007 was released, it's no longer being sold by the major
| retailers.

That's correct.
I have bought many books from Amazon over the years that sent it through a
third party, and I've had no problems. It's like buying direct from Amazon.
Amazon takes the money then reimburses the seller.

Tom
| But it's not Amazon.com that's selling them. At least it wasn't the last
| time I looked. They were merely providing the info for another company.

Okay. I've only ever ordered current software from them. Never tried the
older stuff - seems kind of sketchy.
