Office 2003 network freeze

I have a client, that everytime he tries to "save as" the computer freezes
for about 5 minutes before you can save the file. his "my docs" folder is
store on a network server. Network resources are fine you can access, read,
write, open all files from the network "my docs folder" the computer only
freezes when doing a "save as"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Open My Computer, and right click on, and then select "Disconnect" for
any mapped drive that are not available.

There are no mapped network drives that are not available. II only have on
mapped drive which is to his "my documents folder" which is located on the
server.

Hi Scott,

You can also see this if the mapped drive has timed out or needs a password. See if you get the same delay in going to My Computer
before starting Word for all of the drives to appear or from trying to access the mapped drive from My Computer.

There is no delay what-so-ever when accessing the drives through my
computer.

All network connections are okay I can browse all computers on the network,
acces shared folders on the server, save files to the server, etc etc etc...
