Office 2003 not recognizing Office 2000 mail merge format

I have recently "upgraded" from Office 2000 to Office 2003 and can no longer
get my mail merge documents to run properly. I have to run the "mail merge
wizard" everytime I access my mail merge database just to get the mail merge
tool bar to enable.
Please advise.
Thanks.

From the View menu, select Toolbars and check the Mail merge item in the
list. Then the mailmerge toolbar will be displayed (and will remain
displayed) and you can do everything that you need to with it alone. Bye
bye wizard.

Thanks Doug. Actually, I have the mail merge toolbar visable, but it's
grayed out and will not activate when I open one of my mail merge documents.
I have to go through the "mail merge" wizard everytime, then the toolbar
becomes activated. Before, when I opened my mail merge doc, the toolbar
would enable automatically. I copied over the normal.dot file....did I miss
something else?

Are you sure that it is all greyed out. I would expect the couple of
buttons on the left hand end to be available. That is the one to select the
type of mailmerge (may not be necessary) and the one to open the data
source.
