office 2003 outlook icon

Bill

Hi,
we are upgrading many desktops from office 2002/xp to office 2003, however
in our roaming profiles, the old xp outlook icon remains on the desktop but
does not work. Is there any way to globally get rid of the old outlook icon
(2002/xp) and make the new (2003) icon appear on the roaming profile desktops?

thanks,
Bill

Do you mean icon or shortcut? if its a shortcut then it's probably not
pointing to the right folder i.e Office 11, normally when you upgrade?
re-install the old software gets removed or updated, to globally remove
icons you would ahve to contact your IT team.

If this is on Windows XP, then you can use the TweakUI PowerToy to
decide what icons (not shortcuts) show on the desktop.

thanks Pat
what I really need to do is change all of our roaming profiles to prevent
the old office xp outlook icon from appearing either on the desktop or the
quick launch area of the tray. Is there any way to do this with, perhaps
group policy?
