office 2003 pro problem when shutting down computer

I have just installed office xp 2003 professional and it works alright. The
problem I am having is when I shut down my computer I get some error
messages saying something about not being able to write to memory (or
something like that). These messages are connected with my UPS (connected to
computer by COMM port 1) and my graphics tablet (connected to computer by
USB port).

FYI: Tablet message= Tablet. exe - Application Error
The exception Array bounds exceeded
(0x000008c) occurred in the application
at the location 0x00144166

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

The UPS error says something about Exception array bounds exceeded (with
some numbers after the text).

If I do not press any buttons my computer shuts down as normal but I would
like to be able to sort it so I do not get these error messages.

Any help would be great.
