I am upgrading from 2003 pro to Office Ultimate 2007. I would like to sell my
2003 edition. When upgrading to 2007 is my key for 2003 taken of my registry
with Microsoft, so someone new can install it on their computer?
thanks

Hi, Stella,

If you purchased an upgrade to 2003, then selling your 2003 would mean you
would be ineligible for the 2007 upgrade. If you purchased full packages of
the two that are not OEM (original equipment manufacturer) versions tied to
your PC, then they can install the software legally if you have uninstalled
it. However, you need to check the terms of your End User License Agreement
for the versions you purchased to find out for certain, because there are
many flavors of the software with many different legal terms.

Telephone activation can be used if the purchaser is unable to activate the
software over the internet (because it was previously installed).
