Office 2003 problem - SKU1E3.cab file missing

N

Namaste

Hi.

My son installed statistical software (for college homework) onto my pc.
It caused so many problems, I had to reinstall my MS Office software. When I
couldn't locate my Office 2003 cd, I reinstalled using my old Office 2000 cd.

Now, when I try to run my MS Office programs, I get error messages. The
most common one is that I'm missing the SKU1E3.cab file. The only solution
I've identified is to insert my original office 2003 cd which is of course,
missing.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Namaste,

Try uninstalling Office 2003 from the Windows Control Panel, then re-install
Office 2000.

Thank you for the suggestion Susan but that would mean that I would downgrade
to Office 2000. I've been running Office 2003 for quite a while now and
really don't want to take a step backward.

I'm not sure how to reply to the newsgroup as you mentioned. I am replying
to your post and on the reply page it says it will post in
microsoft.public.office.setup. Is there another way to reply?

Because you don't have the CD, you can't do what you need to do to correct
that error. You really only have two choices: drop back to Office 2000 or
purchase the upgrade for Office 2007.
