Office 2003 Product Key

I have just bought and installed Microsoft Office 2003 on my laptop. During
the initial installation I was asked for the product key and everything
seemed to get loaded without a hitch. I worked with Publisher and in the
process "activated" my version over the internet. When I tried using Word,
however, I was again asked for the product key. I typed in the same one, but
this time the program will not accept it and will not let me use Word, Excel
or PowerPoint. What happened?
