Office 2003 Professional tries to configure Office 2000 Premium

When I try to perform certain tasks in office 2003 Professional, Windows
Installer attempts to configure Office 2000 Premium. If I hit 'cancel', I
get Error 1706:No valid source could be found for Office 2000 Premium. If I
continue to hit 'cancel', eventually I can perform the task. Right now I'm
working in PowerPoint and this happens when I try to edit a document object.
How can I get Windows to stop trying to configure Office 2000 Premium?
