Office 2003 professional (word) (outlook)

when i open a word document, after the first letter that i type a box appears
with what looks like chinese writing if i click onok in the box or close it i
can then carry on with my word document, any ideas why it appears?
My outlook also tells me that files are missing and comes up with some thing
about
reg32vbl missing. have tried reinstalling the disc and doing a repair but
nothing seems to work.

You're in the wrong group: Macintosh only in here.

It sounds to me as though you have installed South East Asian Language
Support and have gotten your Normal template locked into a southeast Asian
character set.

I would delete your Normal.dot template and see if that makes a difference.
