I recently replaced my failing IDE boot drive with a larger ATA drive. At
the time I did not realize that Office could not be transferred
successfully. When I discovered this, I removed 2003 from the new drive,
used LISTool and the Office Cleanup tool.
2003 will, however, not reinstall. It accepts the product key, starts the
"validating install," then stops half way through, backs out, and produces
the following: "CARemoveOffice9LanguageResourceKeyRB." (Isn't CARemove
Java?) I found traces of Office 9 with regedit, removed them, then cleaned
the registry with two difference cleaners.
Still get the same error.
Any advice appreciated. System: XP Pro. Pentium 4 1.9 ghz, 512 RAM, 300
gig storage on two internal drives and 1 external USB drive. NOD 32 virus
protection. ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall. MS firewall off. Network to a second
computer with two other drives. Rarely active.
Thank you in advance.
